Sheer Brilliance!
This album is absolutely wonderful. The Lucky Nows are led by award-winning singer/songwriter Jen Cass, a storyteller of the highest caliber; her "characters" are, by turns, defiant, warm and playful, introspective, mournful, strong. "Rise" brings together a group of stellar musicians whose debut collaboration is nothing less than brilliant. It's a skillfully-woven tapestry of bluesy folk-rock.
