Album Notes
In 2015, Maggie wrote a ska-like piece called “Naked Ladies” for the first grand finale at the Cotati Accordion Festival’s 25th year.
Now, before your minds wander in that direction…

Naked Ladies is another name for the Belladonna Amaryllis that bloom throughout Sonoma County, California every year right around the time of the festival. They’re those elegant, slender stalks with fabulous pink trumpet like flowers and no leaves (naked) that you see everywhere.

The tune, Naked Ladies, is a celebration of the music and joy that fills La Plaza park in downtown Cotati every year.
And, it’s the title track of the Mad Maggies' newest album of tunes.

The Mad Maggies continue to kick up the dust with their distinctive sound. What started as a one-off recording project in 2004, became a wild, musical adventure spanning genres, criss-crossing musical borders and knocking over a few traditions along the way.

“The Mad Maggies refuse to be type cast. They seem to delight in turning musical styles on their end.” -- Greg Cahill, the Argus Courier

“...stylistically omnivorous...”-- Andrew Gilbert, San Jose Mercury News

The Mad Maggies are:
Johny Blood: tuba, bullhorn
Ray Fernandez: saxophones
Ian Luke: drums, percussion
Maggie “Mags” Martin: accordionist, vocals, composer, fearless leader
Mark Nemoyten: trumpet
Tim "SepTIMus" Sarter: U-bass, bass guitar
Ned Stone: trombone
Gary “GDub” Wium: guitars
