Album Notes
1.  "Keep Close" is about loving where you are, and localism, in general.

2.  "Break Ins" is about how we hurt the people we love the most, and how ironic it is that they get to see the very worst in us.

3.  "Hunters" is about Emily Dickinson, Pablo Neruda, Maya Angelou, Dylan Thomas, and all the great poets, dead or alive, and it is a call for all of us to awaken their spirit within ourselves.

4. "Lay Down Love" is about the horrible news that confronts us daily; ...globally, nationally, and very close to home.  In the face of this, its about aching for a safe place to rest my head, my heart, and my love.

5.  "Privilege Talking" was written by Moses Nagel, and is about keeping our privilege in check.

6.  "Wednesday" is about the day after the last Presidential election (11/9/16), and not wanting to wake up my daughters. It's about having to tell them about the asshole who would become our next President.  The audio clip at the end of the song is from the Womens March in NYC (1/21/2017) I took them to the day after his inauguration.

7. "Sad About Phillip" is for Phillip Seymour Hoffman, and how totally bummed I was when I found out he died.
8. "Tom Girl" is for my daughter, Sinead, who is awesome and is named after Sinead O'Connor..

9.  "Nightwatch" is about my battle with insomnia since I was about 13 years old. It's my ode to all those, like me, alone and awake in the night.

10. "You Are Here" is for Al Kash (drums) and Moses Nagel (bass) who both keep me grounded and on fire when we play. The title, "You Are Here" was inspired by John Lennon's tee shirt in the Beatles exhibit at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

11.  "Hey Boy" is for John Caplis.

12.  "Walk On Through" is for my daughter, Josie, because middle school stinks and has been bringing her down.  She is also awesome.

13.  "Good To Go" was written for Britany Orlebeke (fiddle).
