Album Notes
The 3rd and final album by The Mayan Factor - this album was originally recorded as a demo years ago. After Ray's passing, the band went back in the studio and rerecorded the music behind Ray's original vocal and guitar tracks. The result is an emotional 7 song offering.

What a pleasant surprise...
As a fan and supporter of local music in the Maryland area, I have had the pleasure of enjoying a wide variety of great music and talented musicians from around the area. Among the pinnacle of these is the band called, "The Mayan Factor". When I first saw them in 2002, they seemed like kids fresh out of high school. They were opening for another band I had come to see at a small bar in Baltimore. They had a interesting name and I was looking forward to hear their music. As the show began, I was pleasantly surprised to hear some very passionate musicians create an almost hypnotic musical groove that - combined with passionate and poetic lyrics - created a feeling of that we were being drawn into another realm, "Mayan Space" perhaps... I recall people describing a similar feeling when they saw the Doors back in their prime... In the years since, the band released two amazing studio albums (In Lake Ch" and "49") prior to the sudden and unexpected passing of lead singer / songwriter Ray Schuler. The band was devastated and fragmented into a variety of smaller projects. However, there was some unfinished business.. some unfinished songs Ray had recorded basic versions of before he left. During 2012, the band decided the music should be heard and rallied to finish them up. The result was amazing!.. Presented to us under the title, "Yesterdays Son", you find the talent of both Ray and the band remain obvious. The musicianship remains tight.. the "Mayan Factor" sound and atmosphere have been conjured back to the present as Ray reaches out to us all once again with more thoughtful and beautiful music. The band deserves an enormous amount of credit both for undertaking such a challenging tribute - and - for the amazing results that resulted. This album is not only a beautiful and fitting third installment of the Mayan Factor discography, it stands proudly on its merits as a work of musical art. Get a copy.. hit play... and close your eyes and let the music take you away one more time...

An epic final ending to The Mayan Factor legacy!
This album is brilliantly executed and such a great way to say farewell to The Mayan Factor. Ray's vocals are very haunting and add a special element to the album. A must-have for any Mayan Factor fan!
