Album Notes
The Mix formed in 1982 with founding members Barbara Huss on bass and Elaine Gray on guitar. They practiced at loft in Windermere, FL and learned a few basic licks before seeking out additional players. The first show for the band was staged at Park Ave Pub in Winter Park, Fl. The band was doing covers of other girl bands and new wave groups like Pretenders, Talking Heads, Flock of Seagulls, and Eurythmics. They partnered with singer /songwriter Angela Beardsley (now Angela Forest) and she became the lead vocalist. The band began performing her songs and also started writing their own.

Several musicians came and went from the band over their 10 year existence. Suzi Wilson Williams joined as singer and keyboardist. This core group with the addition of drummer Henry Levine brought the band their highest acclaim as a formidable force in the Central Florida music scene from 1983-1986. The album also features the guitar work of Amy Whitaker. The 2015 digital and vinyl re-release of the album is dedicated in memory of Amy who passed away earlier this year.

At long last The Mix is digitally and virtually reunited with the re-release of the Mixistential album, still a timeless classic that captures the sentiment and themes that were so powerfully present in the music of the 1980s.
