ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
At a Christmas party in 2015, three women who had never performed together before decided to sing a song. Guitar in hand, Jennifer McCarter said, “Let’s do He Touched Me,” an old hymn she just knew the other two women had grown up with as well. She started strumming. Jennifer, Donna Beasley and Etta Britt all started singing. The sound that flowed through the room was magical and the ladies knew immediately something wonderful was happening. It was a blend of harmony that said “Sisters,” and, just like that, THEM RUBIES was born!

Etta Britt enjoyed success in the 1970’s as part of the country trio, Dave and Sugar. She has recorded two solo records and, in 2015, released her autobiography. She enjoys performing with her husband, acclaimed guitarist Bob Britt. She is a sought after performer and background vocalist. Etta is currently working on her third solo release.

As lead singer of sister trio, The McCarters, Jennifer McCarter recorded two highly successful records on the Warner Bros label in the late 1980’s. She is praised for her pure mountain voice and her country sensibilities.

Donna Beasley has recorded two solo records of original material and plans to release her third in 2018. Renowned music critic, Robert Oermann, described Donna’s last record as an “excellent example of song craftsmanship.”

TR’S repertoire encompasses mountain music, traditional country, blues tinged gospel, and original material. While many of the songs are traditional, the arrangements and stylings are uniquely THEM RUBIES.

TR's band consists of Etta Britt's husband, Bob Britt, on guitar, Donna Beasley's husband, Tom Spaulding, on guitar, Jennifer McCarter's husband, Andy Hull, on drums, and Paul Ossola on upright bass.

This CD was produced by Bob Britt and Them Rubies, recorded at Cousin Bob's Studio in Nashville, TN, engineered by Cameron Davis and Bob Britt, mixed by Bob Britt, mastered at Zen Masters by Ray Kennedy, and the photography and CD design were by Barbara Potter.

This CD was made possible by our generous Go Fund Me donors and our fans who have supported our live shows.

Them Rubies are based in Music City, Nashville, Tennessee.
