Album Notes
Janet and Martin Butler share a love for music and each other. Janet's daily chanting inspired Martin to merge his original music with the sacred mantras that Janet has come to love and be inspired by. The surprising result led them to form the Naam Music Project, based in NYC, and the music here is the first in a series.

We are grateful to Renee Skuba who sang background vocals on the Prayer of Love, Peace and Light, and Kathryn O'Connor who played Harmonium on the tracks. Thank you to all of our amazing community that has supported us and encouraged us to record this. Special thanks to Dr. Levry, founder of Naam Yoga, everyone at Naam Yoga New York, Paula Tursi and all at Reflections Center for Conscious Living, percussionist Terrence Pompey, vocalist and Sound Healer Lucy Child, and all of our communities and friends around the globe. Chanting is for the soul, and music is a language the soul speaks. Our wish is that you will enjoy these sacred mantras as much as we do. Thank you for listening! Love, Light and Peace to
each of you.
Martin & Janet

Janet Dailey Butler is a Naam Yoga instructor, Yoga Therapeutics teacher and a certified Reflexologist in the NYC area. She currently teaches at Naam Yoga NY and holds workshops in NY and L.A., as well as Yoga retreats worldwide. Janet is a former Atlantic records artist with her band The Pleasure Bombs. Martin John Butler is a former Mercury Records artist with his band The Demons, and is a CLIO award and RIAA Radio Commercial of the Year award winner. His solo album, "Watching the Days Fall" is still available through CD Baby and on iTunes. He currently teaches music to children and coaches singer/songwriters in NYC.

The music is being called New Mantra, because the approach toward their particular combination of traditional Indian, American Folk and Blues, Celtic, African and World music is unique, in the same way other forms such as Cool Jazz and Americana are important sub-genres. They are performing Kirtan's in the NY area now, and look forward to bringing the spirit of Naam to festivals and healing centers throughout the country in 2014.
