ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
I heard my first blues (78rpm) record in the attic of my grandfathers house at the age of 8 and was hooked on the blues for life. Since I moved from Amsterdam to Memphis in 2005, amazing things have happened.
If not for my friend, James “Super Chikan” Johnson i would never have started performing again. Late one night I found myself on stage playing Lala’s keyboard after one of Chikan’s gigs in Clarksdale, Mississippi and when he heard me jamming, the Chikan encouraged me to keep on playing!
In the Dutch movie trailer of 2012 : Cheesehead Blues, adventures of a Dutchman in The Delta Super Chikan says about me: “Theo’s got the blues so bad, he hardly can play it, but he’ll get it .....” So here it is: my second CD, “Blue Boogie” with 11 brand new songs.
Our last election inspired Binder Full of Blues and has a "Muddy Waters" feel. God Bless The USA  is a blues hip-hop fusion and a great number to dance to! It is Funny is a slow sad song about mistakes a man can make, Blues for Mr.Tater will transport you to the Sun House gallery in Clarksdale, Mississippi. It is my dedication to the Late Mr.Tater, whose voice will live on forever on this recording. A Good Man is Hard to Find I wrote for all women(s) and a bit for Jerry Lee. Two Kinds of Blues says it all. I Tried so hard has a bit of "metal" in it. Good looking Woman is a blues song about a (desperate) man in love. The Grass is Always Greener features me on piano with Little Bobby and is Boogie Woogie about"life".
All other songs speak for themselves, enjoy!
