Album Notes
Heavily influenced by the sounds & traditions of 1950’s Skiffle The Ouse Valley Singles Club weave hilarious Folk-like story-telling into this long forgotten genre with all the energy of an aged Punk Band whilst occasionally dropping in some urban Rub n Dub Reggae flavours into the mix, often crossing the parameters of what is deemed to be politically correct. In doing this, they have created their very own unique genre, a truly original & highly entertaining sound that has been dubbed “New Wave Skiffle” and sometimes "Griffle" (Grime and Skiffle) and described as 'George Formby meets The Clash where Vaudeville Music Hall clashes with Working Men’s club entertainer' They put on a show that gives a hysterical observational account of every day tales of woe with a razor sharp observational narrative whilst rocking the crowds with their infectious musical earworms at the same time.

One of the hardest working acts on the circuit The OVSC (as they are known) have been gigging steadily since 2009 building up a massive underground following and are no strangers to the Festival Circuit. They have performed at diverse festivals such as Boomtown, Bestival, Rhythmtree, Nozstock, Mosley Folk & Lunar Festival, Truckfest and Glastonbudget among many other festivals up and down the country. Highlights of their musical journey came when they got to support their luminaries Chas and Dave on their 2014/15 tours and warming up for Bob Geldolf and The Boomtown Rats at the Great British Alternative Music Weekender as well as performing with and providing support for the likes of John Otway, KATG, Pete Docherty and The Wonderstuff.
