Album Notes
‘Let This Begin’ is the debut offering from The Reeds, a 3 piece UK band committed to song writing true to the art of musicianship, hooks, melody and meaning. The Reeds line-up features multi-instrumentalists who happily exchange the pen for piano and bass for baritone. All 3 members have penned tunes for 'Let This Begin’ and their varying styles have produced a range of shades, moods and dynamics that will leave the listener questioning the location of their musical roots.

Over nearly two years they have recorded their debut album 'Let This Begin', with the help of numerous guest artists. A complete labour of love, what started out as a casual jam with friends turned into a huge project, taking in four different recording locations, eight musicians and finishing up as twelve original tracks.

The theme that runs through the album 'Let This Begin' is one of classic songwriting, and the moods conveyed are both of light and shade, taking in many areas of human experience. The listener may hear echoes of the music of Muse, The Kinks, Roy Harper, Bob Dylan, The Smiths, Oasis, The Turin Brakes and so many more. The music of the Reeds draws from all of these but has its own varied and original flavour.
