Album Notes
Professional Protest Song Band
After emceeing the Women's March in San Diego in January 2017, Melanie Peters co-founded The Resizters with long time friends and former band mates from other projects, in response to the need for quality, inspiring entertainment at the continuing protests, marches and community events seen everywhere. All are united in anguish over not just the election in 2016, but the decline in acceptance, humanity, and love felt everywhere on the planet. Unfortunately, this feeling is part of the history of the USA, and many artists have written about it over time. We play those songs with passion and reflection, reminding us where we have been, and we are going.

It is the goal of The Resiztrers to use our musical talents to support our community, and mankind, by representing those artists, from Woody Guthrie to Nina Simone, Creedence Clearwater Revival to Green Day, and motivating people to do the right thing, take an active stand in your community, and #Resizt hate, intolerance, ignorance, and greed.

Since organizing, the band has supported many fantastic organizations such as, AFLCIO, Planned Parenthood, National Organization for Women, AFLCIO, Democratic Clubs, The California Democratic Convention in San Diego, ACLU, Senator Toni Atkins, various local democratic candidates in primary elections, and headlined The San Diego Women's March in January of 2018 and 2019. The band donates their time to these organizations.
