ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
If there is one musical genre that can bring together a bunch of musicians with eclectic tastes it is the Blues. In the words of American philosopher Cornell West:

" The Blues started off in some field, some plantation, in some mind, in some imagination, in some heart. The Blues blew over to the next plantation, and then the next state. The Blues went south to north, got electrified and even sanctified. The Blues got mixed up with Jazz and gospel and rock and roll. "

What started as a recreational project where a bunch of friends could get together and explore their love of the Blues, quickly became something else.

The Robin Robertson Blues Band bring together a wealth of performance and writing experience to demonstrate their love of the Blues in a unique way. This follow up EP continues to celebrate the role of a strong female voice in the Blues. The Blues deserves to be loved, to live breathe and evolve. This band has done its best to honour that philosophy much to the delight of audiences throughout Europe. If you buy this EP you are assured of something different but quintessentially the Blues.

The band have been touring their eponymously named debut album for a couple of years now while writing and developing their sound. This EP is the culmination of that journey. These original songs encapsulate the energy and musical sensibilities of the band. The band are very grateful for some of the reviews received on their first album and are confident that this collection will provide fans and critics alike with what they have subsequently been waiting for.

In their review of the debut album, Blues blast magazine described Annette's voice as " a cross between Maria Muldaur and Bonnie Raitt" going on to say "Annette’s yearning vocal displays her lovely vocal range". The review concludes with "The very competent blues-rock guitar and keyboards provide interesting solos throughout, all supported by a sturdy rhythm section. I will be curious to see how this outfit progresses into the future"

You can now decide for yourself and we really hope you enjoy listening to our music as much as we did making it.
The band is: Robin Robertson on Guitar, Annette Chapman on Vocals, Dot Allan on Keys, Ryan Anderson on Bass and Ryan Cairney on Drums.
