ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Steve was born in Gaston County North Carolina. He started in the ministry with his brothers and sister when he was 13 years old. They traveled across the Southeast for 8 years singing the gospel. They were singing at Poplar Springs Baptist Church in Watkinsville, Georgia when he met Denise Self in 1971. He was 16 and she was 14. Denise had been singing and playing the piano since she was a little girl. They were married on April 2, 1977. While singing at a tent meeting, God spoke to both of them to sell everything they owned and become a full time ministry. When they told Steve's brother, James, of their plans, he decided to join them along with his wife, Wanda. They formed a new group and sang around the country for about 4 years. Steve was on an extended fast when God told him to move to Georgia. They came to Georgia with nothing but their clothes and van. God immediately began to bless them. God caused an old farmer to give them an acre of land and an old house that was located there. There they founded and built a church in Farmington, Ga. Within a couple of years they started a Christian School. They continued to evangelize while pastoring the church for the next 7 years. Denise's sister, Phyllis, sang with them for 12 years until she married and moved to Newland, North Carolina. Steve and Denise had 4 sons over the course of 6 years. Their first son, Aaron, was born before they came to Georgia. Then Anthony was born 19 months later. When Anthony was 4 years old they decided to try to have a girl. But instead they had a set of twin boys, Adam and Andrew. Eight years later the long awaited little girl, Ashley, was born. All of the children were home-schooled by their mother. Aaron began playing the drums when he was 8 years old. Along with playing keyboard and bass guitar, he also sings bass. Anthony started out as the babysitter for his twin brothers. He began playing the guitar when he was 16. He is the sound engineer for our recording studio. He also writes and composes music for the group. When Adam was 8 years old he began to play the harmonica. He now plays lead guitar, bass guitar, drums, and banjo. Andrew began playing the drums when he was 17. He is also writing songs. Ashley started singing in services when she was a toddler. Aaron and Elizabeth have been married for 12 years and have 2 children, Aliyah and Lilyana. Adam and Brittani have been married for 5 years and have a son, Aidyn and a daughter, Ava. Both of their daughter-in-laws sing with the group. God has blessed this family above and beyond anything they could have hope for or dreamed of. Just as the scripture says in Matt. 19:29, "And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life." This band is not just another group of singers, they want to minister to your soul in song and word. They aren't interested in impressing you but they would rather touch your heart with the anointing of God. "Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are the children of one's youth. Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them." PS. 127:3-5..
