There’s An App For That is a collision of old and new. It’s a song about wishing for something simpler in this overwhelmingly complex and technologically oriented world. The process of recording in live performance represents that raw authenticity that the song creates a longing for. A classic bluegrass feel captured through vintage ribbon microphones combines with the theme of modern day struggles with absorption in technology, creating layers of depth in this fun and energetic song.

Joshua Bergmann wrote this song in the midst of his struggles with media as he pushes forward with The Rose Valley Thorns. “There’s something ironic about trying to get Instagram famous as a bluegrass band,” he says while chuckling. But as the song says, “Time ain’t turning back,” so Joshua and The Rose Valley Thorns have embraced the world we live in and while still paying homage and holding onto those simpler ways.
