The Royal Spuds, which formed in may 2012, produce an extravagant mixture of folk, punk, rock and many other styles. With the addition of traditional folk instruments like accordeon, banjo, irish bouzouki, mandoline and tin whistle on top of the drums, bass guitar and guitars, every song is made to make you party, drink and jump up and down in general.
The original line-up existed of five misicians: drums, bass guitar, guitar, banjo (and lead vocals) and accordeon. In an early stage, the Spuds hired a new bass player and a second guitar player. In the current line-up the band has produced both an EP and a full-length CD, both of which were very well received within the folk punk community.
In short: if you want to party, invite The Royal Spuds! “It's Folk Punk Mashed Potato!”
