Album Notes
The Saunders Brothers Show is and interactive, light-hearted performance band based in Halifax Nova Scotia. In alignment with their expansion to touring and markets outside of their back yard, the boys (Ed Saunders, Terry Saunders, and Brian Smeltzer are releasing their third album. The album is called SINGLES, and is a collection of individual songs of joy, gathering, self-examination, respect, and just plain fun! Thanks to the help of some extraordinary musical friends, we finally had the opportunity to record them. The Saunders Brothers Show presents “SINGLES”

Nothing like starting a new day, job, or life with a new pair of shoes!

Guest Mike Evans – percussion
Mike started gigging at 19 in bars and pubs all over NS. He took a break for a few years to have a family and establish his profession, but got back on the scene in 2006, drumming for The Blue Monday Band. He has been doing studio work with Denmark Productions since 2010 and has recorded for a number of different artists including the last few Halifax Plugged In compilation CDs (produced by Dennis Field of Denmark Productions), Civil Condition, Stephanie Anderson and Jess Healy, Hal Bruce, and of course the Saunders Brothers. Mike currently plays for The John Cole Porter Band.

Dumping Day
Dumping Day is when the fishers of Peggy’s Cove start the lobster season by dumping their traps into the ocean.

Guest Alycia Putnam – fiddle
Alycia Putnam is a dynamic Nova Scotian fiddler that blends tradition with modern influences. She plays a variety of styles of music ranging from a deep repertoire of foot-stompin’ Celtic tunes, to more eclectic music, and incorporates these diverse influences into her shows. The result of her dedication to music has been three solo albums and thousands of live performances spanning the globe from Pictou to Amsterdam.

The Man You Used to Be
This ballad of finding the strength to make a difficult change has already been recognized by the Billboard Song Awards and the Nashville International Song Contest.

Christine Campbell
A killer guitarist, a classically-trained pianist, a sincere, dynamic songwriter, and incomparable singer; Christine Campbell is truly a rare, multi-faceted talent. 2013 marked the heralded release of her debut Solo self-titled , a departure from her Les Paul-wielding Stone Mary front-woman persona. Radio stations like CBC, Q104, CKBW and XFM have played her tracks and/or featured her live in-studio. She has made appearances on CBC-TV, CTV, Global and APTN's Candy Show....twice!
Christine has open for or shared the stage with Chantal Kreviazuk and Lou Gramm (formerly of Foreigner), The Kentucky Headhunters, Bif Naked, Jully Black, Tom Wilson,Tom Holland, Charlie A'Court, Monster Truck, Ron Hynes, Dave Gunning, Lennie Gallant, Bruce Guthro and Matt Andersen

John Spearns
John Spearns is a freelance cellist based in Halifax NS. For over thirty years he has played with numerous ensembles throughout the Maritimes including PEI Symphony, Symphony NB, Candlelight Trio, and Nova Sinfonia. He has performed and recorded with dozens of celtic, folk, and various artists such as MacCrimmon's Revenge,The Barra MacNeils,The Chieftains, Rose Cousins, and Gabrielle Papillon. He has also appeared on several radio, film and television productions for CBC, CTV, and NFB

Candy Palmater
Candy is a feminist comic and recovered lawyer. She is the creator and star of The Candy Show, a National TV show that showcases East Coast musical talent to the nation on APTN.

Geoff Arsenault
Geoff’s career behind a drum kit puts him on album or stage with some of the best - Morgan Davis, Ray Bonneville, Dutch Mason, Mary Jane Lamond, Thom Swift, Rita MacNeil, Lenny Gallant, Matt Mays, Matt Anderson, Ian Janes, David Myles. However this winner of best drummer at the national Maple Blues Awards also is an accomplished illustrator, singer, songwriter, and performer with 2 critically acclaimed solo albums “This Ain’t No Fiction” and “Voodoo Baby Rattle”.

Robert Dill
Robert started out on guitar and taught myself how to play. Played in a couple of bands. I do a little on the fiddle, mandolin, spoons and started on the washboard tie at a Saunders Brothers Show performance.

Bill hails from Hacketts Cove, and is the drummer the local band Two Drink Minimum,
as well as the Geezers, who are Ontario based. Bill is a huge fan of the Saunders
Brothers Show and during the day, is the CEO of the QEII Foundation.

Danny Banfield
Danny has been involved in Nova Scotia’s music industry for 25 years. A self-trained singer/songwriter in his own rite, Danny’s degree from Dalhousie University in Computer Science led him to the doors of campus radio station CKDU and then onto 92-CJCH. Meanwhile, Danny also served as the record reviewer for Atlantic Gig Magazine, a booking agent for The Rose Vaughan Trio, and member of local cover bands The Luv Handles & The Laughing Freemen. Over time, Danny branched out as a solo performer, professional host, event promoter and sound technician. Currently, Danny is Puclicist/Assistant to the amazing Christine Campbell, and also works with Canadian music retailer Long & McQuade.

Larry Rankin
Despite being born a Rankin and related to "those other Rankin's", Larry avoided traditional music for many years before embracing his inner Celt with groups like Slainte and Tinker's Damn, enjoying and being constantly amazed at a modicum of success for 10 years and 2 cd's. Currently he is developing original acoustic material across folk and adult contemporary genres.
