Album Notes
Formed in 1979 and once described as “conspiring to make dancing the only way to walk", the Selecter led the ska revival movement, along with 2-tone labelmates, The Specials & Madness. Mixing punk, ska & reggae, their debut album 'Too Much Pressure' successfully reflected the social and political issues of the early Thatcher years in Britain and gave a voice to disaffected youth across the racial divide.

2011 sees the return of this most vital and visceral ska act, reuniting the original singing duo, the female icon of the 2-tone era Pauline Black and the stylishly charismatic Gaps 'De Killa' Hendrickson, who assuredly deliver stunning performances of classic hits like 'On My Radio', 'Three Minute Hero', 'Missing Words' & 'Too Much Pressure' alongside new cuts from their new album, for both old and new ska fans.

The brand new 10 track album 'Made In Britain' explores the multicultural landscape of today's Britain & beyond. Released Sept 4th 2011 on download @ Itunes, amazon, CdBaby.com etc. and as limited edition 12" vinyl, which can be bought, along with &" vinyl release double A side single "Big In The Body-small In The Mind b/w "Back To Black" @ www.vocaphonemusic.com

Mojo Magazine Sept 2011: "Black with a new Selecter band & toaster Gaps Hendrickson have shifted up a gear to provide an album that would sit comfortably next to The Selecter's 1980 debut "Too Much Pressure"..... but it's when Black steps out of her comfort zone as with her reggae reading of Amy Winehouse's 'Back To Black' that she moves forward, capturing the singer at her vocal best' 3***
