Album Notes
"Thanks and praise be to the Lord Jesus Christ, our Redeemer and King!"
This is the 3rd album that the Shillelagh Lads have produced, the 2nd studio album. Most of the Shillelagh Lads were raised in traditional Christian homes, being raised on hymns from Western Europe and the United States. This is a tip of the hat to our roots, and much to our delight, we learned a few great tunes along the way.
This project and collaboration was a focussed 5 week process in June and early July of 2015, engined largely by two of the 'O'Claire Brothers' - Danny and Michael (whose real last name is Rambo - a good Norske name). A special thanks to Olivia Langy of the extraordinary Langy family in Elk Mound. She provided beautiful fiddle, and to KC Cole for the flute contribution on "St. Pattrick's Breastplate", recorded in China, while Danny taught conversational English, (and met his wife, mind you!)
All other instrumentation is by the Shillelagh Lads.
All text and tunes are public domain except the tunes of "Before the Throne of God above" and "My soul Now Praise Your Maker", which were written by Michael 'O'Claire', and an interlude on "The King of Love My Shepherd is" written by Daniel Rambo.
The Album was produced by Michael and Daniel Rambo at:
Ear to Hear Productions, in Eau Claire, WI
