ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Christmas is a basically unstoppable juggernaut, so you might as well give up and surrender to the feeling instead of pretending you are above all that, exhaustedly opining in your careworn fashion that it’s so phony and commercial and getting more so each year. Such talk is common as the season approaches, sure, but it’s actually futile to complain. One by one we fall to its charms, be it by the sight of cheery lights on a neighbor’s house, the smell of cinnamon and cider in a café, the sounds of children’s laughter. After a few weeks nearly everyone gets into the spirit, but there’s always a few that hold out through willpower, or for whom capricious vicissitudes conspire to eclipse the holiday and its related feelings. This conglomeration of Christmas verse is for you - those of you who have somehow managed to hide these feelings of joy and laughter and innocence until the last minute. For you there is Re-Gifted, a mangy, awkward and most unwholesome assemblage of tone poems celebrating the old familiar sights, sounds and smells of The Christmas. Hurriedly recorded in a slipshod manner, this confusing and bothersome array of holiday hyperbole, sugarplum sentiment and gingerbread gestalt is sure to further alienate you and cause paroxysms of unexplained and insincere revelry, unrelenting fits of celebratory oration, and spontaneous utterances and gibbering of vague and immodest holiday banter.
