Album Notes
Richard (Russell) and Peter (Weinstock) have been collaborating for several years now…Peter grew up in New York and has made a living playing music his entire life, while Ricardo is a dedicated amateur who has produced seven albums of obscure original music since 1995. Somewhere around 2012 they got together to write some tunes, and eventually aspired to create "new and real" jazz for these times. Why not? After working together for a couple of years, when they'd written and arranged a dozen or more songs in the jazz style, they wanted to hear the new material played live…and so the Slippersons were born. All the band members live on Hawaii Island, and include Richard Russell (guitar & vocal), Peter Weinstock (keyboards), Jesse Snyder (saxophones), Robin Jensen (saxophones), Brian McCree (bass), and Joe Gargiulo (drums). and the principal recordings were made in a barn in North Kohala. The album was mixed by Tom Rothrock. We hope you enjoy this labor of love. Aloha.

I really enjoyed this collection of tunes from "The Silppersons". A wonderful synergy of talent, poetry and music. I have several favorite's, "Boundries" sets the mood very well, "It's about Love" a swinging bop testament to love "Nana's Song" Jazz and Genealogy "Full Heart" I think this tune is my favorite, all in all this recording is great listening
