The Sometimes are a rock band. Their unconventional, original compositions are at once heavy, bluesy, and melodic and feature a relentlessly driving rhythm section, soaring and atmospheric lead guitar, and lush acoustic textures.

Based in Fairfax, VA, the band serves as a showcase for the original songwriting of its members.

In July 2015, the group recorded a self-titled EP with Grammy Award-winning engineer Matt Shane (Flight of the Conchords) at the Converse Rubber Tracks Williamsburg Studio in Brooklyn, NY.

Kevin Fahy picked up the guitar in high school after disastrous attempts at violin, trombone, and basketball. From the beginning, he was most interested in writing orignal compositions. In the ensuing years, he has performed extensively throughout the Washington, DC area, both solo and as a part of hard rock outfit Pariah and acoustic rock duos Any Other Animal and Derelict Dog. He released his solo album Walk On Top in 2013. Kevin's inspirations and influences include Bob Dylan, Phil Lynott, Chris Cornell, Grant-Lee Phillips, and Kevin Artz.

Nicolaus Heun is a multi-instrumentalist and composer hailing from the “Birthplace of Rock n’ Roll” aka Cleveland, OH. As a youngster, he played guitar in the regionally influential ensemble known as Johnny 2-Tone & the Smashers (ska/punk). During college, he co-wrote and performed under the name Falling Up (alt-rock), which received airplay on local college radio in the Boston, MA. He has diverse musical influences ranging from Americana, Folk, Outlaw Country, 70’s Hard Rock, and Soul in the vein of the Muscle Shoals Sound. His writing is most influenced by strong narrative-based writers like Jason Isbell, Ryan Adams, and the Drive-By Truckers.

Burt Glassman plays bass guitar like it's going out of style. He performs(s)ed with lotsa bands such as CHuRT, The Ramonds, Los Azul Lejos, All But One and The Involution. His influences include Bruce Thomas, Steve Harris, Mike Mills, Motown, and Mingus.

Brian LaFleur started playing the drums as a fifth-grader in Connecticut. Later, he studied music at Ithaca College, playing everything from classical to rock to Indonesian gamelan. Brian lived in Brooklyn for several years, and performed with various bands at notable NYC venues such as CBGB, the Continental, and the Mercury Lounge. In the DC area, he has appeared with Loser Leaves Town (alt-country), and Phantomweight (post-punk funk). Brian's drumming is influenced by the classic groove drummers Levon Helm, Charlie Watts, and Al Jackson, and the funky rhythms of Africa, New Orleans, and Brazil.
