Album Notes
Praise God for bringing The Sound of the Northwest to its 25th anniversary year and allowing us a mountain-top experience in Carnegie Hall on February 19, 2012. Thanks to the many friends and supporters, old and new, who assisted us in making the trip. Thanks to Sonojack Records for making this recording possible. And thanks to the men and women of The Sound, old and new, who came from North, South, East, and West and sacrificed their time and resources to make the journey to New York and/or this recording.

The Negro Spiritual, more than any other music genre, affirms the indomitable spirit that sustained the enslaved Africans in America. That spirit resides in each of us today regardless of race, color or creed - and the world would be a better place if each of us simply focuses on that which connects rather than that which separates us. This recording brings The Sound's Carnegie Hall program to you along with a few other favorites. We hope you will be inspired and uplifted as you listen.
