Courtroom Blues

by The South Erie Rockers

Courtroom Blues, with its condensed easy lyrics and toe-tapping beat is a timeless blues classic that was penned while both writers were in a high school music combo called the Bonzi Blues Band. Recently re-mixed, re-edited, and partially re-recorded from earlier master tapes, this version by the South Erie Rockers features multi-faceted guitar parts, bountiful drums & percussion, and a subtle rhythmic trance that will embellish listeners far and wide. Core instruments include acoustic & electric slide guitar, bass, electric, & 12-string guitar, drums, and cajon. Other distinct musical accents include Hammond rock organ, piano, strategically placed harmonica, and a frosted layer of maracas to sanctify the final lyric verse.

Buzz Achinger (real name: Warren Achinger) is the founder and principal singer/songwriter for the South Erie Rockers, a nom de plume used by Mr. Achinger to separate his professional life in the computer sciences from his semi-professional work as a multi-instrumental musician and singer/songwriter from in the Southeast Michigan & Northwest Ohio area. While in his mid teens, he was a founding member of the Bonzi Blues Band, a rasp and raucous garage style band that gained wide popularity in the Toledo Ohio, Monroe and Detroit Michigan areas. After fronting several versions of this band, he moved on to college and the regional bar scene with numerous other bands, such as "The End" and the "Lodge Band". Eventually, Achinger signed with a various selection of song publishers and A&R producers in the New York City area during the period of the late 1980s & early 90s. Currently, Buzz Achinger is laying the groundwork & music tracks for an eight song South Erie Rockers CD that he hopes to release in the upcoming year. He is also working on a short film / music documentary and the background score for a series of independent programs & documentaries.
