Album Notes
The Space Sharks – Love Bomb

From the up-tempo opening song "Love Bomb," to the acoustic/electric "Slow Like Tar," recording the band's second album was a thrill for The Space Sharks. "It was really cool to know that people actually wanted to hear more,” laughs guitarist/vocalist Lonnie Richard, “so we went into this album with a lot of momentum. Like the first album, we mostly used the first or second take, which almost always had the most energy and spontaneity, almost like a live recording. We knew we had a good take when it hit us in the gut when we played it back, rather than thinking ‘okay, I’m going to play this thing I’ve practiced a million times until all of the life has been sucked out of it.’ Ha ha. Play it once or twice...boom…next! Anything after that, we were kind of repeating ourselves."
"We’re very happy with the way it all turned out," says drummer/backing vocalist Mike Martino. "There's sort of a Brave New World/1984 vibe on a few of the songs--kind of sci fi, and as usual, we’re having fun as a band. You can definitely hear it in the songs!”
Mastered by Grammy Award-nominated engineer Jeff Lipton in Boston MA, the album sounds crisp and big. Crank up “Love Bomb” to hear The Space Sharks at their best!
