ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
"On the Move" is the third studio album by "The Steam Radios". The passionate but grounded songwriters Klaus Schickhofer and Hills Smith can’t be pinned down. Their music is a genre-bending mix of alternative folk and 60s influenced ballads making you feel the thin line between love and loss at the same time overcoming doubt. Their new album relies on the way Klaus Schickhofer plucks his electric and resonator guitars as if he had been brought up in the swamps of Louisiana, as well as on the big but not enormous with a tinge of sadness touched voice of Hills Smith. Owing to their songwriter-by-nature musical approach listeners are put into the lonesome worlds of country and blues. It exposes some unpleasant lyrics while confidently cutting right to the heart of the matter that makes Smith sound like an honest narrator to listeners as she avoids clichés and evasive language in her songwriting. Rhythmically, The Steam Radios are grounded with Walter Graf on drums and percussion and Haley Resch on Fender bass as the proven masters of the Blue Eyed Soul.
