Album Notes
Barry Marshall, and Jeri Burns PhD have been working together as The Storycrafters since 1991. In addition to being internationally renowned storytellers, they are authors, award-winning radio show hosts, recording artists, adjunct college faculty, communications coaches, and Public Radio essayists.
They perform and teach their art form in schools, libraries, and other venues all over the US, Caribbean, and the British Isles. With a natural, energetic style, they have been featured performers at storytelling and folk festivals nationally and internationally, including:

• National Storytelling Festival (TN)
• Gimistory Festival (Cayman Islands)
• Clearwater’s Great Hudson River Revival (NY)
• Seacat International Storytelling Festival in Holywood, Northern Ireland
• Timpanogos Storytelling Festival (UT)
• Ananse Soundsplash (Jamaica)
• Four Corners Storytelling Festival (NM)
• Mesa Storytelling Festival (AZ)
• The Falcon Ridge Folk Festival (NY)
• St. Louis Storytelling Festival (MO)
• Patchwork Storytelling Festival (SC)
• Mohegan Storytelling Festival (NY)
• Second International Symposium of Storytellers in Sussex, England

In addition, The Storycrafters work as healing storytellers with psychiatric patients as the storytellers in residence at Stamford Hospital in Stamford CT.
Jeri and Barry believe in the time-tested wisdom of traditional stories and fairy tales, and share that wisdom with today’s audiences. They strive to honor world cultures by telling the old stories in respectful ways, often integrating the musical instruments, songs or dances indigenous to that region. They are also well-known for original modern renditions of the oldest stories, using styles such as spoonerism, rap and balladry generously sprinkled with a dose of rollicking fun, poignancy and pizzazz… some of their most requested material.
In addition to their work as performers, Jeri and Barry also hold positions as adjunct college faculty (SUNY New Paltz, Southern CT State University), therapeutic storytellers (Stamford CT Hospital psychiatric unit), and trainers of public defenders (New York State Defenders’ Institute, Troy NY).
The Storycrafters have been recognized internationally, nationally and locally, including:

• Cayman National Cultural Foundation Gold Medal for Creativity in the Arts
• Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Platinum Award
• Parents’ Choice Award
• Storytelling World Award
• The National Storytelling Network Oracle Award
• NYS Broadcasters’ Association Award
• Columbia County Artists of the Year

Publishers’ Weekly describes them as ‘Top-notch family entertainment,’ and the BBC has called them ‘Brilliant’.
In addition to their work as performers, The Storycrafters are avid promoters of the art of storytelling. They produce their family radio show, ‘Just Imagine’ for audiences in New York, and are involved in organizing The Story Grove at Clearwater’s Great Hudson River Revival (NY).
