ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The Tooners began as the L.A. New Wave club band Womanizer in the late 1980s when they headlined Madame Wong's and were the house band on KWST nights at The Troubadour. After releasing their singles, "Mass Murder Man", "Sexist" and "Sidestreets" as Flexi-disc soundsheet inserts in PaperCuts, The Illustrated Lyrics Magazine and having produced fully animated music videos which won major film festival awards (Chicago International Film Festival), they became known to their fans as "The Tooners" and soon adapted the name officially.

Their CD, Rocktasia, was inspired by the experiences of their youth in a time when the military draft loomed over the heads of the young and drugs and fast cars were as dangerous as the war. It was a time when friends were made and taken before their time and Rocktasia is The Tooners' tribute to them all.

Rocktasia was recorded using analog equipment in 1994 and has been edited and remastered for re-release in 2014 in celebration of its 20th anniversary.
