ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
After about 25 years of individual projects, Ottawa, Canada’s own The Town Cryers are back!
And here's the long-anticipated 3rd album, Stanley’s Cup. It was 25 years ago, almost to the day, that The Town Cryers had planned to release the epic 18-song recording, but decided to shelve it for a couple of months… It’s has now been digitally remastered and out on CD and downloadable formats, to be officially released on December 8th.

The Town Cryers were at staple in Canada's live indie music scene. With their signature jangly-rockin’ guitar attack and sinister humour, they toured Canada with many major international acts, including Australia’s HooDoo Gurus and America’s BoDeans, to name just a couple. They had number one hits on radio stations across the country and were awarded with Best Independent Music Video on Canada’s Much Music and the CBC Telefest Awards. NME (UK) called them “Canada’s Replacements” and Toronto’s Now Magazine touted them as “Canada’s indie darlings”.

The Town Cryers are:
Lead guitarist, Jeff Tanguay (Life-Size Men)
Rhythm guitarist John Allaire (JA & the Campistas)
Bassist Rick Dixon (Not Really)
Drummer, Kevin “The Breeze” Smith (JA & the Campistas).

The four veteran rockers have been active in the international music scene individually and as part of other bands since the Cryers “shelved” the band and have released about 15 individual/band albums collectively since 1992. So don’t worry, they are tight and ready to roll.
