Album Notes
TREMENS was officially formed in 1996, but the band has its roots in the early spring of 1993, when Kop and Dado first performed in the subway of London's Edgware Road, busking mostly The Beatles, Guns and Roses, Bob Dylan, and occasionally, to confuse the accidental passers-by, some ex Yugoslav rock. Azra's song "”Uzas je nasa furka" - which loosely translates into “Terror is how we roll” was a repertoire favourite since it perfectly suited the duo's circumstances at the time. From today's perspective, it becomes clear that in those days they performed not only to survive but also to prove to others that they are alive.

With the arrival of the singer/guitarist Tony and the drummer Pedro, the band started writing and performing their own songs, playing some of the most famous rock venues in London such as Red Eye, Rock Garden, the Laurel Tree and the legendary Hope and Anchor, where the likes of U2, The Damned, Joy Division, The Stranglers, Ian Dury, The Clash, The Police and The Ramones also performed at some point in time. A curious fact: at the Laurel Tree Tremens shared the stage with Coldplay, which held their first concert ever that night.

Tremens continued on its way, playing for themselves and the audience whose numbers grew from concert to concert, year after year. Very few could remain indifferent to the energy that was selflessly emitted by the London indie/punk/rock quadruple. Concerts often took place next to the stage, ensuring the crowd got fully involved in the gig.

The songs on the "Twenty Years of Hurt" album were made in the period from 1996 to 1999 and they owe their ultimate form to Silvio Pasarić Silver, who is responsible for the production and mastering. Performing on the album are Anthony Longworth Tony - vocals, rhythm and solo guitar, Davor Tojčić Dado - vocals and bass guitar, Slaven Kopanja Kop - rhythm and solo guitar, and drummers Pedro, Duncan and Terry.

Original and authentic while staying true to their roots and influences and steeped in the tradition of rock’n’roll ghosts of the past and the present, Tremens has always been what it is now. We can’t influence the past, but the songs and the spirit of the times can remain forever.
