Album Notes
The UCF Jazz Ensemble I (aka The Flying Horse Big Band) has recorded and performed with a veritable who's who in jazz. The Band has been featured on NPR's JAZZSET and both of its releases on Flying Horse Records have charted in the top fifty of the jazz charts ( #43 for "Jazz Town", and 35 for "The Blues is Alright"). Former members include members of Claire Fischer, Sam Rivers, Bill Holman's bands, and the L.A Philharmonic. The UCF Jazz Ensemble I has performed at the Jazz Education National Convention, the Montreux jazz festival and the North Sea Jazz Festival. The Jazz Professors are featured on two tracks, Lush Life, and Spring Can really hang your up the most. The Jazz Professors include Jeff Rupert on sax, Marty Morell on drums, Richard Drexler on bass, Bobby Koelble on guitar, and Per Danielsson on piano.
