ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The Unlimited Show Band from Louisville KY is the premier dance/entertainment band in the region. In over 16 years of playing together we have shared the stage with many touring artists including SOS Band, Midnight Star, KC and the Sunshine Band, Kool and the Gang, John B, The Emotions, Dennis Edwards, Average White Band, En Vogue, The Deele, Nappy Roots, Confunction, Lakeside, Frankie Beverly and Maze, Zapp, Parliament Funkadellic with George Clinton, Kim Waters, KEM, Boys II Men, Morris Day and The TIme as well as the legendary Al Green. Many of these artists have given us kudos for our showmanship, sound and overall entertainment. En Vogue and Zapp said we reminded them of why they "decided to do music in the first place". All of their flavors can be heard in our style which is why we fit so well on shows with them. We finally decided to put all of that into a CD for our fans (and soon to be new fans) so they can enjoy us whenever they like. There is something for everyone on this CD. Flavors include baby making grooves, in your face R&B, a Chicago two step style song and club type of songs. You will find yourself singing along with catchy hooks, bopping your head to the beat and looking for some space to dance to the music, even if you have to chair dance in your car. We do ask that you please do not fall so deeply in the groove that you forget to drive safely. We are a 7 piece group with 2 keyboards (Omega Latham III and LeRonda Thompson), a guitar(Jacques Smith Sr.), a bass/synth bass (Eliot Thompson), Drummer (Floyd J. Juicy Buckner), a male lead vocalist (Don Wright) and a female lead vocalist (Robin Shaw) with 3 additional background vocalists. This enables us to do some interesting arrangements vocally and reproduce them on stage as they were recorded. We think a band should sound as good in person as they do in the studio. Unfortunately our drummer of 16 years Floyd Buckner passed away unexpectedly near the end of the recording process. But we are truly blessed to have gotten his playing and style "down on wax" as they say. We dedicated this album to him. Pick up a copy of Love Cliche's, you will not be disappointed.
