Album Notes
"The Devil and the Deep Black Sky", the second album from The Vine Brothers, was recorded during a one week break from the group's Spring 2013 tour while they were in Fayetteville, AR. Since most of the songs had already been road tested for almost a year, the recording process was completed relatively quickly, representing the raw element of The Vine Brothers' live sound. The band was able to take advantage of Fayetteville's rich music scene by including a number of local guest musicians, including RJ Mischo on blues harmonica, Ken Everts on drums and percussion, and Adams Collins on both vibraphone and banjo. The resulting eight song CD traverses the disparate paths of bluegrass, delta blues, gypsy swing, and folk.
