Album Notes
"No Candy"

Recorded at the ensembles studio deep in the Ozark Mountains of Arkansas over the course of a couple of weeks, the eight original songs represent The Vine Brothers' continuing evolution as an acoustic trio exploring new ideas and sounds while at the same time remaining fully rooted in the timeless musical influences that have preceded us. We had the pleasure of working with some of our most trusted musical accomplices to make the album all that it could be: from the sweet harmony vocals of Candy Lee (Melody Pond) to the mood altering vibraphone of Adams Collins to the thunderous funk of Anthony Ball's drums to the syncopated wall of latin percussion courtesy of Fernando Valencia. Each one of our guests gave just the right amount of shine to the foundation the three of us constructed on every song. Mixing was performed by our friend Bryan Burkhart of Sound Source Studios, and the album was mastered by Grammy award winning engineer Cynthia Daniels of Monk Music Studios on Long Island. Our composition "East of Albuquerque" (Track #8) was a recipient of an honorable mention at the prestigious 2016 International Songwriters Competition (ISC).

About The Band:

Greg Bucking (Jefferson, NY) - Guitar
Joe Credit III (Deal Island, MD) - Mandolin
Garrett Jones (Fayetteville, AR) - Bass

Criss-crossing the country for the last number of years from the East Coast to the Rockies, this acoustic trio uses mandolin, guitar, upright bass, and vocal harmonies to captivate audiences with their crafty songwriting, fiery improvisation, and soulful delivery. The band's versatility makes them equally at home whether performing in a theater, an intimate club or on a large festival stage.

The Vine Brothers' first two albums, 2013's The Devil and the Deep Black Sky, and 2012's Low Rent, received airplay on over 100 stations in the US and Canada and charted on six of them, including a number one position on KRZA in Alamosa, CO. One of the songs from Low Rent, "Three Bottles", was featured on the Discovery Channel show Vegas Rat Rods. More recently, the band was a semi finalist in the 2016 Belk Southern Musician Showcase in Nashville, TN.

Bonnie Grice, host of The Eclectic Cafe on WPPB 88.3 FM in Southampton, NY called The Vine Brothers "Bright and buttery... flamboyant with a touch of oak... Kick-ass but not too tart... a unique brand of bluesy folk gypsy jazz... straight off the vine... Love them!"
