Tickle Machine

Album Notes
When I was kid growing up, music was THE thing. I played classical piano for more than 10 years - and picked up some other instruments along the way. I’ve always been around kids, working with them creatively and developmentally.

After high school I was a camp counselor. After college, a ski instructor, then a youth wilderness educator and a college film and media instructor. I guess you could say I've been working with kids my whole life...

When my daughter was born all my creative energy went to her. Oh the lengths you’ll go to make your child peel with laughter! There are lots of instruments around my office - guitars big and small, drums noisy and quiet, percussive shakers, keyboards etc. I wanted Lila’s sense of play to include “Daddy’s toys!" …. We began making up songs together, and soon I was writing songs which document that moment of playing, doing, asking, understanding.

These tunes express and extend the joy and love I feel when I’m with Lila. I hope they connect with you as well, and you play them loud, and boogie down!
