ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Joe Bouchard started his professional career as a founding member of rock legends Blue Öyster Cult. He joined that group in 1970 and was their bass player and a creative force in the band for 16 years. After 11 gold and platinum records for Columbia, he left BÖC in 1986 to pursue other goals.
The X Brothers were formed in 1988. Originally called The Cult Brothers, the group started as a four piece group with brothers Billy and Andy Hilfiger, on guitar and bass, respectively, and Jim Cacala on drums. As the Cult Brothers they toured all over the U.S. from Maine to Florida, Texas to Montana. Due to a legal dispute with Blue Oyster Cult, The Cult Brothers changed their name to the X Brothers and in 1998 released a successful CD entitled Solid Citizens.

Right after the release of the CD, brother Billy was found to have a brain tumor. For the next four years, even though their schedule was cut back drastically, the group continued to play shows with Billy including several in upstate New York. Andy played several shows with Kid Rock as his bassist which included a worldwide appearance on the VH1 Fashion Awards. Joe recorded a CD with Alice Cooper alums, Dennis Dunaway and Neal Smith. Jimmy Cacala performed as a lead singer in an upstate hardcore band called the Bowery Boys.

Unfortunately, in 2001 Billy passed away due to his cancer. The band and large numbers of Billy's friends came together for a star studded concert at Don Hills in NYC honoring their fallen brother. It was a touching moment.

On the Fourth of July, 2002 the X Brothers played their first show without brother Billy at an outdoor fireworks show in Elmira NY. The show was attended by over 5000 people and was a smashing success. The X decided that they could and should continue to play together, but now as a trio.

HOT TIME IN HELL TONIGHT!

I keep lookin' but I can't see what's cookin' but it ain't Pork and Beans I smell. Last thing I remember is this truck outside of Denver and that sucker must have smacked me straight to Hell! Here's Fu ManChu at the barbecue bakin' hot Hiroshima pies. Every woman and man gets a nice even tan but they're dead as a junkies eyes.

Hey Miss, how'd you come to this? You look mighty sincere. She says "Hey son, wanna have some fun? Slither right on over here. Gonna be a...

Hot Time in Hell Tonight! Hot Time in Hell ---Tonight!

Django and Jimi's jammin' with Memphis Minnie something about loanin' me a dime. Now the Marquis De Sade ain't gonna spare the rod cause it's finger poppin' time. Now the man with the tail is getting kinda pale cause this groove's gettin' too hot to handle. We ain't foolin' around, Gonna burn this place down just like some rock and roll vandal.

I said OooWeee it feels so good to me. I got this burnin' desire. I'll catch if you throw me a match. I wanna set this thing on fire. Gonna be a...

ON FIRE WITH LOVE

Ever since the world began I been searchin' & searchin' & searchin' for you. Off guard...the music so wild Dreams of the night...what a vision it's true. So high.....little passionate child In a flash......I knew it was love. Heat rising......from the call Hit me so hard like a bolt from above. . . .

When I first saw you!

Don't need a shot to ease this pain Let me in....I just wanna be close. Fan the flame that is burnin' her heart Feed the fire that is burnin' the most Enticing eyes....hyponotize Like a black cat that won't let up Those eyes you just can't hide Pulses racing ....you can't stop I'm on fire with love. I'm on fire In love with you. In love with you.

I'm on fire with love. I'm on fire In love with you. In love with you.

Some say just stay away Don't ya know she's as bad as they come. Burnin' my brain.....goin' insane Out to the edge of delerium. No need to reset the score Chains of love so sweet. She's got a hold. I'm just a slave to her......

I'm on fire with love. I'm on fire In love with you. In love with you. I'm on fire with love. I'm on fire In love with you. In love with you.

LOVE'S A KILLER

No one knows when it will knock on your door, You may be a wealthy man or be a beggarman so poor. It can bring you pleasure, it can also bring you pain. It can take a sane man and drive him up the wall 'till he's insane!

Love is a killer. Love is a killin' thing. Love can make you crazy, it can make you want to sing But love is a killin' thing. I said love is a killin' thing.

I have felt the passion, I've been down on the floor, Love has been my downfall I guess you've heard it all before. Someday you'll see the reason for all the hell I've been through, But I can tell you one thing that it could happen to you.

Love is a killer. Love is a killin' thing. Love can make you crazy, it can make you want to sing But love is a killin' thing. I said love is a killin' thing.

PEARLS

Storms brewing 'cross the shore. The Northwest winds they whip the trees today. White caps start to turn and twist away You're gone. Yeah oh yeah yeah.

Going down the road it can't be so bad. Memories sweet the dreams you had. Going the coast, down to Alex Bay Moving so fast I got to getaway.

Pearls against the tide Waiting out the storm On a wild ride. Pearls against the tide Yeah oh yeah yeah.

Thinkin' 'bout the rain and all that's lost. Lies he said, the old albatross. Setting a trap don't want to get it all back. Checking the dates in my almanac.

Pearls against the tide. Waiting out the storm On a wild ride Pearls against the tide.

Storms brewing 'cross the shore. The Northwest winds they whip the trees today You're gone. Yeah oh yeah.

INNER BIT

BH: Yah oughta be ashamed a yahselves!

(big laughs) [Diner talk. . . on the way back from Louisville, KY heard from a chamber maid back at the Holiday Inn after surveying the rooms after a wild night]

PJ: The show must go on.

JB: You got it. [PJ picks up Joe after hitchhiking from broken down car on Rt. 17 just before gig.]

JC: Yeah, right. I know, right. A beer and a cigarette and a big fat . . . (laughs)

Gas Attendant: That's cool, man!

JC: She thinks I'm wierd.

JC: I'll always be bad. I'll always be 16 years old. . . mentally. . . always.

[Jim does kick drum roll. Louisville]

Random conversation: I am going to die. There is definitely a puddle under me.

(laughs) A puddle? Are you talkin' puddle?

BH: Yah oughta be ashamed a yahselves!

[more random conversation but edited out. . . ]

THE WILD ONES

Come on, pretty baby Come and take a ride with me. Go and get your leather on We're headin' out to be free. Take your soul to the edge Then step on over the line. Speeding down---the highway now We're gonna have a real good time. Yeah!

Runnin' with the WILD ONES. Oh Yeah We're the WILD ONES.

Like Marlon Brando So many years ago Going on a long hard ride The only way to go. Passing everything in sight The tach is in the red. Hang on tight---the weather's right There's nothing but the road ahead. Yeah!

Runnin' with the WILD ONES. Oh Yeah We're the WILD ONES. We're the WILD ONES. We're the WILD ONES.

Can you feel it In your wild heart? Can you feel it Burnin' like a fire?

Yeah Yeah we're the WILD ONES And we're diamonds in the rough. Keep on shining Got to play it tough. Livin' on dangers edge Going down all the way. Gotta need---for some speed Cruisin' all night and day. Yeah!

Runnin' with the WILD ONES Oh Yeah We're the WILD ONES. (You better run!)

DREAMLAND

The fantasy unfolds in stages The lady waits and counts the pages. She lives her life in Dreamland

She sees a world with deep emotion With rainbow skies and perfect motion. Nights of love in Dreamland

Come back again cries the lonely. From castles come her one and only. Love will find a way in Dreamland.

Words of love have now been spoken. Promises will soon be broken. Off she goes to Dreamland.

Dreamland. . . Dreamland.

MYSTERY VOICE: Yo, Bouchard,

I wanna give you a lotta money.

Give me a call.

Forget about the people suing you, man.

You be on easy street.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah trust me, man

Yeah, yeah, yeah trust me

Yeah, yeah, yeah trust me, man, trust me.

THE VAN SONG

Rollin' down the open road In a red, rock 'n' roll van. Flying down the highway, Got to make it To the show tonight.

Overloaded to the roof. Sleepin' on the Marshall amps. Flyin' past the radar traps. Faster than the speed of light A party will ignite.

This is the Time! This is the Place. On the road..............

Jimmy's moving in to make a score. A tattooed lady waiting by his door.

On a trip down south Lying on a hot sand beach Entertaining through the night The rock show You can't resist.

This is the Time. This is the Place. On the road..............

Rollin' down the open road In a red, rock Œn' roll van. Flying down the highway Got to make it To the show tonight.

Is this all a dream you had? or was it the daydream blues, a little fantasy that you can't refuse.

This is the Time. This is the Place. On the road..............

DREAM MACHINE

Mmmm . . . Mmmm . . . I wanna surf across the ocean But it's too late to live that dream. Diving' down . . . Deep down Far below the deep blue waters. An apparition from the sea Her blinding light . . . called to me.

Oooo, Ooo . . . ooo . . . The Girl from the Dream Machine. Oooo, Ooo . . . ooo . . . The Girl from the Dream Machine.

Floating Œcross some distant season Caught in a time . . . alone. There was this crystal vision Just beyond the pounding waves.

Diving' down . . . Deep down Far below the deep blue waters. An apparition from the sea Her blinding light . . . called to me.

Oooo, Ooo . . . ooo . . . The Girl from the Dream Machine. Oooo, Ooo . . . ooo . . . The Girl from the Dream Machine. Oooo, Ooo . . . ooo . . . The Girl from the Dream Machine. Oooo, Ooo . . . ooo . . . You can synthesize your own reality.

[Freakin' Bridge]

Oooo, Ooo . . . ooo . . . The Girl from the Dream Machine.

Near the end, I lost my vision. With a shift of the tides, the girl was gone.

Diving' down . . . Deep down Far below the deep blue waters. Deep down the clear blue water. An apparition from the sea Her blinding light . . . still calls to me. Oooo, Ooo . . . ooo . . . The Girl from the Dream Machine.

AH: Once more. . . You've got the cemetary up ahead.

ALL THINGS PARAMOUNT

I got myself a percentage of the gross. Singer's stoned, raving mad, just leaning on a post.

All the people come down. Paper planes and foolin' around. . . Strikes a chord in their heart. Forgotten lives And vast amounts Breaking the bank tonight. All things paramount. All things paramount.

Play away the days down a rocky road. Riding out a heavy trip where you might explode.

All the people come down. Paper planes and foolin' around. . . Strikes a chord in their heart. Forgotten lives And vast amounts Breaking the bank tonight. All things paramount.

Streets filled with sadness. You try and stop the madness. Precious life filled with decay. All is lost. You waste the day, hey, hey.

All things paramount. All things paramount. All things paramount.

RUN FOR THE SUN

Hot sand, desert sun Outlaw on the run On the run. Moon and stars, dead guitars Empty heart, riding alone On the run.

I just wanna know When will this runnin' be over. Been travelin' too damn long Can't seem to find my song. Now I know it's all gone But I Run To the Sun Run for the Sun will Burn You.

Ride the range, still the same Saddle sore, drinkin' strong On the Run. Whips crack, crashin' down Sixguns, hear the sound On the Run.

I just wanna know When will this runnin' be over. Been travelin' too damn long Can't seem to find my song. Now I know it's all gone. But I Run To the Sun Runnin' for the Sun will Burn You.

I don't give a damn Where all the times have gone to. Tired of your killin' love Now I'm out for my fun. And I'm gonna shoot for the sun.
