Album Notes
Entre Las Americas is Third International's second full length CD. It is a collection of soundscapes and grooves, interspersed with soaring melodies and insightful lyrics. As with the first (Beautiful Accident) it deals with social issues. This one is about the clash of cultures. Immigration. Imperialism. Manifest destiny and the great leveller that is planet Earth. Modernism vs. ancient traditions, opportunity vs. conflict. Upheaval. It features Andrew Pearson's songwriting. He sings and plays guitars and guitar synthesizers, giving the band its rich sound. Pearson is an expert looper and uses the mode to its fullest. His blues roots come out again in his playing, even though this album has less of a blues base than the last. Joining him, on bass, is Bill Foster (ex-Billy Cobham and Larry Coryell). On drums is Adrian Harpham. Adrian is a multi instrumentalist/producer talent in his own right, having made a name for himself on the New York scene recently. Adrian is often associated with New Orleans music, playing with the likes of Dr. John, Leo Nocentelli (of the Meters) and jazz giant Henry Butler. He also had a #1 single on the French jazz charts last year with Robin Mckelle. Playing on several tracks, on cello, is Dave Eggar. Dave is best known for his work with Coldplay and also on Beyonce's last album. Dave is a Grammy nominee and when not palying with the New York symphony or doing sessions, he is often in Indonesia working on a government project to develop and expose the indigenous music there. This then, is the current incarnation of THIRD INTERNATIONAL.

Band/Artist – Third International
Genera: Rock
“Entre Las Americas” is Pearson’s second LP release and it has much to commend it. Mainly because there is a whole lot of variety to these arrangements and performances. First Andrew Pearson and company bring the mad skills when it comes to playing. Do some research of bassist Bill Foster’s background to see what I’m talking about. As a result fans of bands like RUSH, KING CRIMSON and RADIOHEAD will love this CD. This is not your a-typical Ramon Noodle math rock artist, there is way too much diversity here for that. Instead Pearson and company could even be classified as a 3 genera artist: Progressive, Alternative, Alternative Rock, Classic Rock and even a touch of Ambient Rock. Pearson and company have way too much precision and clarity and transcend stereotypical pigeonholing by critics like myself. Indeed there is much to movements like “Toys”, “Baba”, and “Mexico” which methodically ups the ante to a very respectable level of modern Classic-Rock musical craftsmanship. The music is also commercially viable and is like a motion picture with amazing moments and an intellectual vibe. I might add not every square inch is filled with vocal delivery under duress – but also musical moments that allow the music to just breathe on its own. This is music will keep you guessing and thinking – as it is a thinking man’s album.
I would imagine in time we will hear more from Third International. No doubt Andrew Pearson and company have carved out a marketable niche for themselves thus making a good career start via these 2 last releases. I can honestly say this is one artist that clearly gives you a musical snapshot that is highly passionate, appealing, and not to be underestimated.
