Album Notes
Our Town is the first full length recording from Thomas Fox. It was recorded between September 2010 & January 2011 at Planks, the duo’s home studio and back-porch music venue. It accompanied the Yellow Tree Theatre production of Thornton Wilder’s classic american play in which Mary performed in the role of Emily Webb & Blake played the Stage Manager. The production ran from February 11th through March 6th, 2011.

Most of these songs are traditional American folk songs. Many are taken from the New Lost City Ramblers song book, published in 1964, a collection of transcriptions of early 20th century recordings. The few exceptions to this are: Let the Spirit Descend (a song that may have been written by J.M. Purdom), Mighty Mississippi (Trad. with words by K. Harrell), Everything I Know (words and music by Blake Thomas).

This album was recorded, mixed & mastered by Blake Thomas & Mary Fox. Additional clapping by Rosie Palan & Perry Senjem.
