ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Straight Four II featuring the great Lee Konitz plays adventurous, swinging, melodic music, played within the broad, deep tradition of jazz, but there are plenty of curves and detours on the way to surprise and thrill the listener. The recording quality is exceptional - each instrument comes through crystal-clear with a living, pulising warmth. These are musicians who combine passion with maturity, intensity with consummate skill, diversity with thoughtful balance, playing together with a controlled fire.
The first Straight Four recording from 1999 features the fantastic Flugelhorn-player Ack van Rooyen from the Netherlands, and is also availiable only on CD Baby.
