ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Straight Four III featuring Harvey Wainapel plays adventurous, swinging, melodic music, played within the broad, deep tradition of jazz, but there are plenty of curves and detours on the way to surprise and thrill the listener. The recording quality is exceptional - each instrument comes through crystal-clear with a living, pulsing warmth. These are musicians who combine passion with maturity, intensity with consummate skill, diversity with thoughtful balance, playing together with a controlled fire.
The first Straight Four recording from 1999 features the fantastic Flugelhorn-player Ack van Rooyen from the Netherlands, the second one from 2000 Lee Konitz with his beautiful, distinctive sound. All 3 albums are availiable only on CD Baby.
