Album Notes
Drink Hail!

Comprised of players Ariana Pellayle (Becky Cormier), Rosemary Quench (Rivka Levin), and Wicked Pete Speakeasy (Dolph Amick), Three Quarter Ale combines the lilting charm of 17th-century madrigals and traditional favorites with the high-energy impact of modern folk-rock for a truly arresting sound. The toast of the Georgia Renaissance Festival pub crowd, Three Quarter Ale's tempting blend of lively harp, flute, and guitar with delicious three-part vocal harmonies in turn uplifts, enchants, and makes listeners want to dance in their seats.

I love their harmonies. This CD is a wonderful journey which I shall enjoy over and over again!

Three Quarter Ale rocks the foam off my frothy flagon!
Three Quarter Ale's rich harmonies and tight (no pun intended) musicianship combine to rock the foam off my frothy flagon. As an ensemble, TQA does justice equal justice to madrigals, folksongs, and original compositions, but I particularly enjoyed their fine performances of "All Soul's Night" "Two Magicians," "The Fox," and "Shalom and Farewell." Call this one a Ren Faire in a jewel case; I find myself humming or singing along with Three Quarter Ale, so I know this recording will be a regular in my CD player for weeks (or months) to come.

Truly a thing of beauty...
The songs? Tuneful & lovely! The musicianship? Professional & cohesive. The vocal harmonies? Exquisite beyond mere words! I went meshuggenah over this! This will transport you to another time & place...I can't wait for the next CD and the next live performance! Wooooo-eeee!

They Are A Portable Ren Faire
Being someone who works the ren faires and enjoyes good entertainment, I heard this group on a celtic podcast and loved their song the Two Magicians. So, I bought this CD and absolutely loved it. Their CD is a musical journey from their start to their end (I won't say what happens at the end so you enjoy the end of the cd. The ladies are absolutely beautiful in song and so is their male companion. You will definitely enjoy this CD if you like the ren faire or medieval music. A definite MUST BUY for your library.

Excellent group
Absolutely amazing. They work together so well and this CD is a fine example of how they interact to entertain and amaze. They truly take you elsewhere and make everything around you drop away as you listen. You'll tap and dance and laugh right through it. It was truly enjoyable to listen to. I heard some of it on one of the many podcasts that I subscribe to and it led me here and to buying this and other CDs as they are released. Would be awesome to see them live I think.

Great Fun, Great Sound, Great Harmonies
We love the traditional madrigals and other traditional music. We love the harmonies of the voices of 3 Quarter Ale. The CD is great!

Beautiful music! Now I want to learn harp & flute!
The only thing better than listening to this Three Quarter Ale CD (and there’s not much better to do in this world than listen to this CD) is to see them in person. All three of them are actors as well as musicians so their stage presence and facial expressions/body movements bring so much to their act that when I bought the CD I was expecting to be just a little bit let down. How could it possibly be as good? Boy was I wrong. Listening to the CD you realize how great their voices and their musicianship are all by themselves. I listen to it at work all the time and consequently two of my coworkers have bought the CD/signed up on their mailing list awaiting the release of their follow-up. Anyway, the harmony, the humor, the lyrics, the exuberance in their voices and Wicked Pete’s crazy guitar playing make this CD well worth checking out.

Raise a toast to Three Quarter Ale!
This CD rocks (in, you know, a folky kind of way). The arrangements are tight, the harmonies are beautiful, and the songs are the perfect mix of traditional and modern, weepers and rockers. Throw in the in-between-song comic dialogue of the band members, and you'll feel like you're on a rollicking journey of Renaissance fun.

Excellent beginning!
Dolph Amick has potential to become a songwriter of note, from the heart-touching "Shalom and Farewell" to the pun-licious "Grape Stomping" which is a must for both music fans and wine geeks!
The women's voices range between lilting to poignant, and the whole group together is a high-energy, celtic-influenced treat. 3/4 Ale can only get better. Bring on the next album!

Great cd
This cd was great. Thinks to the samples I knew what I was getting. I enjoyed all the songs and the comedy, except for the minute of silence which i didn't care for.
