ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Tia GunZ is the founding member of "THA Reign' which T.H.A. is an acronym for To Heal All. The band consist of some the most talented artists around the world. Amazen King Roe of Pittsburgh, Dino Gazo of France, Mackmosa of Las Vegas, and the amazingly talented Portia Monique who gives her voice to the world, especially the beautiful motherland Africa. Tia GunZ, also known as Rutia Maria, from Seattle found her voice at a very young age. It was the age of 3 when her Uncle Johnny Smith, a great musician in Seattle discovered that RUTIA was no ordinary child. With talents of music, art, writing, and acting it was a given to model. Rutia had a gift of communication which led her to a life of activism after a troubled start as a teen. And by 16 she was traveling the country speaking on the many things that were effecting our inner-cities such as poverty, gang violence, and homelessness . Being born in a Native American family also truly had an impact. Visiting her family on the reservations was a wake up to what the world was hiding, her people were suffering. At around that time her grandmother Florence Morningun Curry of the Blackfeet Tribe took the "RU", out her name and gave her the name "T.I.A", Tia. At the time this made no sense to young Rutia, she wanted to carry a tru Native Name, like her mom, aunts, and cousins. "Why TIA??" She would wonder, but only time would reveal the true meaning. Florence Morningun knew all along that Tia would do awesome things for the world, just as the Mosthigh Great Spirit has called us to do. Thus "Tia GunZ" was born. . . To Heal the world through the vibration of sound, music, and art!
