Album Notes
The new album Saturday Night Mind Control is pure dystopian bubblegum. It's a mess, a beautiful mess, style wise, they try just about anything. Tiger Helicide play a mixture of snotty distorted punk and goth rock. Catchy as Hell and tossed off with a take it or leave it attitude. They even throw in some spoken word and piano! Guess what? It all works. Dark vibes abide and a sneer in the face of fear. When I listen to this band I imagine The Toxic Avenger and Wez from Road Warrior hangin' out together in some teenager's bedroom in some 1980's alternate universe with KISS and Vanity 6 and Freddy Krueger posters on the wall and what's that on the boombox? Tiger Helicide. Make some room among your Misfits and Cramps and Dead Kennedys and Flipper records. This is good fun stuff. Go see them play when they come to town. -Brad Posey, musician/artist/DJ
