Album Notes
The TIMBERLINE album was recently shown prominently on the American Picker’s show and people have been writing my older brother and me a ton.
WE sold 50,000 copies - It was when the disco craze hit the country. Legendary record producer Bones Howe produced the album at Wally Heider Studios in Hollywood- Hal Blaine played on the album as well as Michael Boddiker and John McEuen.
Wayne Moss (Nashville Cat - Hall of Fame studio musician and member of super band Barefoot Jerry is in his late 80’s and he helped us get our record deal (we are from Nebraska and now Colo for me)
I have been in Dolly Parton’s band (off and on) since Timberline broke up in 1979. I also played with John Denver.
And there is quite an interesting story about our front cover ( it’s a Curtis photo (hand tinted- for our album) that shows these men around the tree right before they cut it down and made an observation tower for the 1893 Columbian Exhibition in Chicago - Buffalo Bill’s Wild West including Sitting Bull and Annie Oakley and 27.5 million visitors.- (716,000 one day record) The tower was later moved to the Smithsonian where it was on the pedestrian mall for 25 years and then disassembled and used for the foundation of the Pentagon (whew-thats a lot of info)
The tree as called The General Noble….
