ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes

Tim Carter is a banjo/mandolin/harmonica playing singer/songwriter/guitarist who performs around the world. In addition to the Carter Brothers Band and his own Tim Carter Band, he has been touring and recording with Hayseed Dixie since 2016. Tim, a native North Carolinian, has the rich musical heritage of the Carter Family running deep in his veins. His banjo style, described as “Rain running through the trees,” is progressive, but with traditional roots.

Tim was in the Carter Brothers Band with his brother, Danny Carter, for the past 30 years. The band release several records. The latest, “The Road to Roosky,” on Compass Records, gained a lot of attention. Tim and Danny created their own brand of groovingappalacianfolkrockfunkedupbluegrassgypsyblues

music, playing world wide with much success. Tim continues that style of playing, true blues roots music—occasionally playing bluegrass to show that he is from North Carolina—but the blues is the basis of what he does.
