ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Tim Jones' long awaited second album has arrived. The CD packaging is a sheer delight, but the content is a revelation. Ten carefully chosen songs cover the spectrum of Tim's eclectic but unique style of songwriting, drawing on the broadest of influences in great British songwriting. There is humour here; pathos, desperation, cynicism and delight; there is harmony and mastery of chordal structure and melody. Where 'Six of One and Half a Dozen of the Other' precised a life story, 'The Price of a Place in the Sun' opens and closes with tracks which firmly plant him in the present: a vagrant outside his natural realm, forming the book ends to eight other songs which draw upon his English background. As ever, Tim varies the pace, the mood, the keys and the themes of his songs so that the listener is permanently drawn in and fascinated. This time, with the skills of producer Ryan Miller, the broad spectrum of subject matter is drawn together into an enticing soundscape to enhance the listening experience.
