Album Notes
One night, after getting home late from a gig, I checked my e-mail and found a note from a fan. He wanted to know who wrote a song I play in my live shows called "Wrestling With Dragons." I answered that it was one of my songs, but I had not released it on a CD. He quickly wrote back to say that he wished I would record it, because he liked it so much.

That little incident really gave me a shot in the arm to finish this project, and as it turned out, "Wrestling With Dragons" became a stand out track and the title cut, because it really summed up the themes of this CD's songs.

Sometimes a little unsolicited support goes a long way. I thnk all musicians sometimes wonder if they are the proverbial trees falling in the woods. When you hear from someone who is moved enough to write you about a song, then you know your tree fell, and somebody heard it--and liked it!

For me, it's always about the song first. Songwriting is a life long passion and an exercise in Job-like patience, but there is no other experience quite like getting a song as "right" as you can. I will admit it's hard for me to keep my writing confined to one style...you'll hear folk, rock, country, pop-even blues influences on this album. But I think this set hangs together pretty well, yet with each cut revealing another twist in the music and the words. Thanks for listening!
