Album Notes
I started writing music when I was 9 years old, and at age 11, I gave up playing the piano and wiritng for it; to playing the guitar and writing for it.
My first song for the guitar was called "Unbroken and Free" My inspiration to write this song was the movie, "Flicka" , my love for horses, and how I feel when I ride. I performed it at my 6th grade talent show where I was the only child performing, singing, and playing my own original music. This was truely exciting to me. Shortly after that I wrote a song called "Hold on " which for a time I called Anthony's song. This, after I met a boy who was extremely depressed . I had gotten his phone number and called him and sang it to him the next day, it helped ! Right on the heels of 'Hold on" I wrote; "The Unloved", "Miss You so" and "Rejection"....All based on my changing emotions at this time in my life.
I first recorded all of these on my soon to be new Aunts portable computer, along with other experimental disco and symthesized music. All these were written and copyrighted before turning twelve. WBER started playing my music on their local station which made me very happy.
Since then, I have been writing, singing, and performing out @ several outdoor venues ( Schooners, and Bayside Marina by the Lake), coffee houses (Starbucks), on the radio, television, and my favorite spot "The Lovin' Cup", in Rochester, New York . My guitar teacher, Jim Lane, has given me amazing opportunities to perform. I hope you will enjoy hearing us sing together on track 4 .
My next songs were : "Angels Eyes" written at age 12, and "Summertime" written at age 13. By the time I was 13, I wrote "Change", inspired by all the drama and complications I had experienced in Middle School. Afterwards, I experimented with several forms of "Change" which you can also hear and compare on this album. Pick your favorite. I originally wrote it for the piano, it has a simple, heartfelt message that reaches out to so many.
In the Spring of 2009, I started performing a song I wrote during the winter, called "Painted glass". Many feel , and have told me they love the beautiful, musical pictures. Since then, I have written 3 new songs not included in this album. So, look forward to seeing or hearing another new album coming out soon !
I would like to express my thanks to Michaela Eremiasova, who introduced me to expressing myself in my own unique way, by applying improvisation to my new love the guitar. Also, for her sharing with me the entire recording process.
I would also like to thank my Mother, for promoting and producing this album for me. And her continuous support of my musical expression, and making possible the means and drive to do so. I love you Mom.
I would also like to Thank my Dad and Mom for their love and support through this musical process which started basically as a baby playing on the electric piano. Resulting in lessons and playing the piano, at age 4. I Love you both for bringing my music out to others.
I am so happy that Frank DeBlase, and Woody, of the BUZZ 98.9 FM on the "Sunday night Shakedown"gave me a chance, and for loving and playing my music. You can find an interview with them, where I also sing and play guitar( episode # 206) on the web under my name. I love you guys!
Also, thanks to WHAM CW 16, with Evan Dawson, for interviewing me on the morning news , introducing my new cd, and allowing me to play live as well. A new experience for sure!
Its all for Love,.... Music for life,.... it's what pulls me through :O)
Thanks for listening, and Enjoy!
