ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
This track started out as a planned collaboration of guitarist Rick Pierce (TKO, Q5, Nightshade) with his daughter, EDM and A&R luminary DJ EVA, the two of whom found common musical ground in the somewhat obscure David Bowie/Giorgio Moroder movie soundtrack song, the dark, moody "Cat People (Putting Out Fire)". The project slowly took on a life of its own, finally becoming a reunion of Rick with '80's TKO bandmates singer Brad Sinsel and Evan Sheeley on bass, and a completely new interpretation of the song. Rick Bradley (Suicide Squad) contributed the drum tracks.

Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready has long cited TKO's debut album Let it Roll as one of his early influences, and when he heard about the "Cat People" project in a chance meeting with Rick in the spring of 2013, he immediately and emphatically offered to play on the track. The plan was for Rick and Mike to emulate the fierce lead guitar trade-offs between Rick and the late Tony Bortko that were a staple of early TKO concerts. The song finally came together in the winter of 2013 with the recording of Brad's final vocal tracks and the soaring back-up vocals recorded in Nashville by Cynthia Frazzini (The Believers).
