ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Solid As A Rock is the title of the brand new album from Thomas Maguire & Fhiona Ennis. It encompasses 15 tracks including previously released singles “Come Back To Ireland” written by Co Tyrone’s Eugene Logue, “I Hate Karaoke” from the pen of their manager Henry McMahon, “Never Ever Let You Go” (Danish Eurovision Entry 2001) and the title track “Solid As A Rock”.

Originality comes in the form of Fhiona’s “Hit Em Where It Hurts” written by Vic Holdroyd, Thomas’ “Your Health Is Your Wealth” written by “Country Harmony’s” Gerard Dornan and the up tempo walkin’ bass style “Play The Jukebox” composed by Co Fermanagh’s Eamonn McPhilomey.

The Gospel genre is touched upon by Fhiona with “Precious Memories” and Thomas with Eddy Arnold’s “If I Never Get To Heaven”.

Thomas covers one of Elvis’ lesser-known hits “Heartbreaker” and delves into The Bellamy Brothers back catalogue with his version of “I Need More Of You”.

Thomas & Fhiona tackle one of The Kendalls greatest hits, “Heavens Just A Sin Away” which was a number one in 1977.

Fhiona’s other solo offerings include Buck’s “Tiger By The Tail”, Tammy’s “Good Girls Gonna Go Bad” and Carl Butler & Pearl’s “Don’t Let Me Crossover”.

Since getting together in 2005, the Co Fermanagh and Co Wexford combination of Thomas Maguire and Fhiona Ennis have been touring extensively throughout Ireland, England & Scotland with their band and have built up a loyal fan base along the way.

Along the way their endeavours have been rewarded with numerous awards including their recent Sunday World Award for “Best Duo”.

The couple tied the knot in Sept 2009 and honeymooned in the home of country music, Nashville. While there they took the opportunity to put some tracks down in a Music Row Recording Studio using some of the finest musicians Nashville has to offer including the legendary Harcus “Pig” Robbins. These recordings will be released at a future date.

In October 2010, Thomas celebrates his 10th year on the road under the management of Henry Mahon.

Solid As A Rock is their third studio album to-date and builds upon their tried and tested formula of showcasing their duetting capabilities as well as their solo and quite individual voices and will no doubt be a breath of fresh air to their ever-growing fan base and the radio airwaves.
