ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Ocean of the Heart: Shri Ram Jaya Ram is based on a familiar Ram chant. This CD will totally put you out. It is deeply relaxing and rejuvenating. The mantra repeats over and over in a deliciously hypnotic way layered in sheaths of drones textured with instrumental breaks of angelic voices that penetrate the deepest inner realm of feelings that stir the underlying emotions of the heart with love, compassion, and insight.

Shri Ram Jaya Ram is a Maha Mantra (great mantra) that bestows blessings of the heart. Shri means divine beauty, auspiciousness, and is the recognition of the underlying perfection and intelligence of the Universe. Jaya means victory or triumph and refers to a state of consciousness that is supremely free, that pulses with the highest joy, and instead of dwelling in the past, generates a bright future of possibility and hope. Rama, the lead character from the Indian epic, Ramayana. (Life of Rama), was born a prince and banished to the forest to live in poverty. Rama is known for his virtuous acts upholding the Dharma (nature's way) with love, sensitivity, compassion, fortitude, and courage. Rama symbolizes the possibility for all of us to live from our heart’s fullest potential, in alignment with nature, and in service to the highest.

When you go to your heart, you realize that you are connected to everything that is. You are like a wave on the ocean of the Universe. The wave is never separate from the ocean, and the ocean is always in the wave. You are one with the ocean and yet, you are an individual wave. You are simultaneously a one-of-a-kind, miraculous masterpiece of creation, and you are one with the spirit that flows through everything. You are a unique wave in the ocean of the Universal heart. When you are in your heart and I am in my heart, we are one.

Note: Why do all of the tracks sound the same?
Tracks 2 through 5 are a variety of shorter segments of track 1: Shri Ram Jaya Ram (Full length Version) designed for yoga teachers and practitioners who would like shorter playlists for Savasana or relaxation at the end of a yoga class.

Teachers have told me in the past how much they love my CDs. But the tracks are so long and mesmerizing, they never get past the first 10-20 minutes of the piece without falling asleep or spacing out. Now with "Ocean of the Heart" you'll be able to hear the full track in shorter segments.

My wife got the idea to split up the long tracks into several shorter tracks for the purpose of creating playlists for yoga teachers who want to use the music for Savasana. This CD features one long track, which is the full song from start to finish, plus 4 shorter tracks which takes the longer track and divides it into 8-10 minute segments. This allows you to hear different segments of the full piece in smaller segments. The segments sound similar but are different in their texture, tonality, and voicing. The more you listen to each track, the more you will get to know the differences and be able to hear the subtle changes from the previous track. And since all of the tracks sound similar, you can play the entire album from start to finish while maintaining a consistent vibration, ambiance, and feel.

May this music support you to relax and release the unnecessary stresses of your life, and dwell, if only for a few moments, in the ocean of your heart, where you are embraced exactly as you are, and all is well.
